Doing the weekly shop is much easier with a helping hand, I will take you to and from your chosen supermarket and help you pick and pack in the store and then unpack back at home. No need to worry about heavy or larger items, I will do all the lifting required to make things easier for you. - Daily errands
I'm happy to take you to any of your appointments, dentist, hairdressers, vets, shopping in Kendal - whatever you require. - Relative sitting service
If you are a carer for a relative or friend you may sometimes struggle to pop out, don't worry I can stay with them, talking and looking after their needs for as long as required. - Form filling
I know how complicated filling in lengthy forms can be, from my experience at Age UK I can assist and advise on various forms and help with any other admin you would like me to.

Gardening and lawn cutting
If you would like your garden to be looked after I can do a range of basic gardening tasks for you including cutting back, tidying, planting, lawn cutting and more.- Attic and garage
Room clearing and organisation can be hard work on your own, I can organise, clear out or tidy your garage, attic or spare rooms to create new space for you. - Car care
From car washing and valeting to MOT or car service errands, I can look after and organise this for you as required. - Basic DIY around the home
I can take care of basic DIY jobs around the home and if the job requires a trade professional, I can organise and co-ordinate the work for you if you prefer.
Let me assist
I can take you for your weekly food shop, help you to choose your shopping and unpack at home...then I'll put the kettle on and we'll have a cup of tea.

- Swimming sessions
As a qualified swimming teacher I am the perfect person to accompany you for a swimming session, whether you would like a lesson or perhaps haven't been in the water for years but would like to - I can tailor the sessions to suit your needs. - Computer, technology and mobile phone skills
Perhaps you would like to learn more about how to use the internet, email, a mobile phone, kindle or tablet or perhaps you have never really used technology before - I am here to help and can bring equipment for us to practice with too! - Walking
If you would like a bit of company on a regular walk, or have a dog that doesn't get out as much as you like, let me know and we can plan to go out during the week. - Hobbies and interests
It is important to make time for your hobbies and interests and I can join in too if you like, from golf to crown green bowling, fishing, dominoes or board games - just let me know what you usually like to do! - Shopping and local trips
If you would like to go on a shopping trip in the area or perhaps visit a local attraction, museum, gallery or gardens - I can organise that for us, you could even bring a friend too. - Lunch out
There are plenty of nice places in the area to enjoy a spot of lunch, we could add this before or after plans or just take a leisurely few hours to have a chat and enjoy the ride out.
My home help services are all about flexibility - sometimes my clients will want to do a particular activity such as shopping or travelling to an appointment, or trip out to a garden centre or local attraction. Other times we will simply enjoy each others company in the house, have a chat and spend time together.
I very much understand that people can feel more active on certain days than others, so there is never any requirement to complete tasks or trips out. It's all about enjoying the visit - remaining very adaptable is a key element of what I offer and something I believe which makes Day to Dave that little bit different.

I can help with gardening, lawn cutting, basic DIY and much more.
Sometimes caring for and supporting older people to stay independent and in their homes for longer can involve a partnership working approach. If you already have regular support from Kendal home care providers, Cumbria care agencies or perhaps a live in carer - you can still benefit from what I offer here at Day to Dave.
My visits can work around more regular home care or care from a relative. Often my clients see me during a break for their main carer and I take them out shopping, for a cup of tea, or to appointments for example. Or we might choose to do a more relaxing activity in the home, whatever suits each person best. There really is no fixed criteria, I aim to create sessions that everybody will benefit from.
